Mi dad was on diet pills. Made him highly strung, no sleep, and didnt do much good on the weight loss front. Cant remember which ones he was on, but it was NOT Xenical, I do know that. Best person to ask is the Doctor. Or to look on the net for the drug on ... www.healthsquare.com/drugmain.htm... and see if it warns u of anything that sounds like it could make irrgation harder. I would have thought that oily stools could be a problem for irrigation. Cos we all know oil floats on water and repels it. And irrigation works by melting the stool away from the bowel and flushing it out. It would help with th flushing... but I can see it stopping the water from softening the stool. Just a guess though. Like I say, best person to ask if the Doc. Or phone the customer support line of the company who's irry products you use. These companies nearly always have a stoma nurse to hand. Failing that you can contact a professional stoma nurse direct on Hoillisters new Ostomy World.com site. www.ostomyworld.com/solution_guide/email_an_expert/48 hour reply turn around. Hope that helps u Hilary Buh bye now, Jason.

And irrigation works by melting the stool away from the bowel and flushing it out. But doesn't it also work by forcing peristaltic action in the colon by sheer volume? In which case you'd think whatever is in there would be flushed out .... On the other hand, Xenical is notorious for causing uncontrollable diarrhoea ...... I would think Hilary's stoma would leak constantly between irrigations. Anyway Hilary .... we luvs ya just the way you are. Julie XXX
