Yay, the surgon said I could get my colostomy reversed in 6 weeks if nothing else goes wrong,. He can not assure me that I will not have to have another colostomy in the future if the IBD comes back, but he also said that even if I do not have the reversal I could be back in the hospital for more surgery anyway just the nature of the disease. Because of the horable expierence of the last surgery I am concerned about this one but I am not hesitating, all your support is very much appreciated

thanks, I figure that if I keep it much longer I would not get the reversal a colostomy is not realy all that bad, I thing i realy want it fr revenge aginst people who are so shallow that they ended friendships because I got it, that realy happened to mem guess they were not real friends anyway. I would rather have animals for friends, anyway thanks again, it still is not fixed, it depends on how i continue to recover and what the surgen finds when he opens me up. thanks again

Thats good news corvus. One quick thing though - there is no real time limit as to how long a colostomy is in place before it cannot be reversed. I know of a successfully reversed colostomy which was 18years old. A few hints n tips on the reversal side of things can be found on the following page of the site: www.ostomy.fsnet.co.uk/reversal.html Bye now, Jase.

Thanks Jason, i will not have the' key hole' opperation, the surgen wants to look at the entire system so he will open me up along the orpginal scar line thus another 34 stapeles to close me up [third time] and 5-7 days in the hospital with 30 days to recover at home. If he does not like what he sees he will not reverse it. Because my case is not common he can not give me any more assurance than that, the up side is that even if the reversall is cancled based on what he finds after opening me up is that he caught somethng befor it became serious. I do not mind the pain as much as the time out from life on the property as I have to recover in Sacramento where I stay with one of several friends that are Regestered Nurses thanks again

Good luck with the reversal. I hope that the surgeon can carry through with it once he opens you up.
I had a reversal in May and that part of my surgery went well.
Take care Jennylee
