I will have a colostomy surgery done by the end of this month. 3 weeks after the surgery, if everything goes well I will have to travel back home to the US on a plane. I am in Hungary to get the operation done. I really have to travel back. I am sure it’s not recommended, but…have no choice. What should I be prepared for? Any advice? Would the cabin pressure do something to the stoma? Thanks, Edit

Hi there, 3 weeks is a bit early, but if it has to be done, it has to be done. I had to travel nearly 3 hours on a train to get home after mine, 3 weeks post op too. It was tiring but it went OK. Plane wise, the travelling page of the website tells you some hints n tips and advice etc. www.ostomy.fsnet.co.uk/travel.html Good luck when you have it. Hope it all goes well. Buh bye now, Jason D. webmaster and colostomist. www.ostomy.fsnet.co.uk
