How many times a day to most of you have to change
the bag?
Do you have more bowel movments now that you have a stoma than before?
I am just seeing if it will be better for me to do this or not?
Right now I only have bowel movements 2 times a week and I have to
take a Lxative to start it and it last 2 hours then I am good for a
couple days, but it is still preventing me from doing alot , like hold
a full time job and Go gamping for days.
I love the outdoors I love hiking biking, camping, fishing I am also a
pro photographer that does weddings and stuff. if I know I am doing a
wedding or going camping for a few days I alwats cleanse my system
with a laxative.
I am very active, I go to the Gym 3-4 times a week.
I don't know if A colostomy will be less a hasle that not having one?
If I get a colstomy will I be able to do the same things? Go camping
for a long period of time? Go to the Gym? go hiking? Wil;l I have
leaks? How many times will I need to change it? what about Gas? What
about odors? I have a wonderful wife that hings that I should get A
colostomy.
Right now I feel like I am not pulling me wieght in our Marrige since
I can't have a full time job with my bowel problem? will the Colostmy
help me be able to hold a full time job?
I also play basketball at least 5 times a week, 3-4 hours a day can I
still play basketball? what is the likely hood of the Bag coming off
do to Sweat? do the Come off pretty easy? I am just trying to decide
what would be best for me, and I hope that someone out there can help
me to think through this, one min I am for the surgery the next I am
not I do not know what to do, my wife and I have an oppointment with a
ET nurse next friday.
I am 25 years old, I was born with Bowel problem, not enogh muscles
around the spencture muscles and was bor with an imperferated anus, I
had a colostomy when I was real little, but they though that a pull
through would work and reversed it, now I am thinking about having one
back. It is my dream to become a wolf Biologist and pretty much live
in the Back country and right now I know I couldnt do it full time, if
I get A colostomy will I be able to, or will it be more of a hassle?
and coments welcomed? I am lost right now on what to do?
