Hi and welcome Tammy!
A month isn't a long time to get used to an ileostomy...be gentle with yourself, things WILL get better.
Are you having any problems with it that you want to ask us about? If you want to chat to others the chatroom link is:
www.ostomy.fsnet.co.uk/chat.html
It's open 24/7, but the main chat of the week takes place on Saturdays 8pm UK time.
You may feel overwhelmed right now, but life really does go on after an ileostomy. My husband's was a complete shock to us both but if you were to meet him now you wouldn't know he had a stoma.
Looking forward to getting to know you, Tammy!

Hi I'm Melissa welcome to the board... I had a allergy reaction to the paste I was using. So I stopped using all paste and pre wipes. The rash is completely gone now.
I use a hollistier 1pc appliance with convex barrier. I get 7 days.
Hope you find out the problem soon those skin rashes burn and itch like crazy...
Melissa

Hi Tammy I'm Shaz and I've had my ileo for 27 years now since I was 10 years old due to UC. It does take a bit of getting used to (with some mishaps along the way), but as time goes on, you'll get used to it and there will come a day when the only time you think about your ostomy is when you have to empty or change it. Good luck
