I am set for a permanent colostomy on the 23rd. Any advice?

If you haven't done so already, I suggest you read Jason's Lifestyle Guide to having a colostomy, which can be found here:

One of the most important pieces of advice is to make sure the stoma is placed below your waist (avoid it being above if at all possible.) Your nurse should mark you before your op, and discuss with you a comfortable place.
